Korean pop star G-Dragon (of Big Bang) was accused of “dry humping” a dancer on a stand-up bed during the tuy vậy “Breathe” at his “Shine A Light” concert.

It’s become such an issue that the South Korean government decided lớn step in andinvestigatethe incident. If GD loses the case, he faces a fine và up lớn a year in prison.
*

Fans have sầu started a petition khổng lồ support the pop star and khổng lồ show hyên ổn that we don"t care what he did and think he did nothing wrong!YG Entertainment, G-Dragon’s label, released an apology but other than that, no one involved with the incident has spoken about what happened.
The dancer being “dry humped” on stage by G-Dragon is Aimee Lee Lucas. Even though she"s not Korean, Aimee works as a dancer và choreographer for YG Entertainment.
*

She’s appeared in numerous concerts và videos with artists like TaeYang & Big Bang. Here she is as the lead female dancer in Big Bang’s “Number One” video:
When Aimee performed the “Breathe” number with G-Dragon, it was just another dance và she didn"t even think twice about it. She flew back to lớn L.A. the morning after the last concert thinking everything went perfectly & without a hitch. By the time she landed, all of Korea was outraged & talking about the incident that happened.
“I was shocked when I heard what was happening,” Aimee says. “We performed two shows on a Saturday and Sunday. All the VIPs & big people came out on Saturday and no one said anything. During rehearsals, no one told us we were going too far & should hold back. So the reaction was surprising.”
The interesting part is at first all the comments were directed at Aimee. Saying things like "what was she thinking" and "how could she vì chưng that"! But once fans found out who she was, an american, all the negative comments stopped.
During the whole controversy, everyone associated with the dance number, from G-Dragon lớn Mr.YG, has been vilified—except Aimee who is not facing any of the charges, fines or jail time. “I think it’s because I’m American,” she says. “I"vebeen told from the start that I’ll be treated differently because I’m American và that’s been the case.”Here’s a clip of the supposed "scandal". Judge for yourself if you think it’s obscene:

Lets put this whole "controversy" inlớn context. One must first understvà the K-Pop scene. If Big Bang is lượt thích the Korean N’Sync with its more innocent and tween friendly music, G-Dragon is its Justin Timberlake—pursuing a solo career lớn explore more “adult” subject matter. His first solo album “Heartbreaker” was deemed inappropriate for children because of the lyrical content of several songs lượt thích “She’s Gone” (sample offensive sầu lyric: “If I can’t have you, I’ll kill you.”).The songs are pretty tame by American standards. The content of an American pop tuy vậy lượt thích Justin Timberlake’s “Roông xã Your Body” is downright pornographic compared to G-Dragon’s music. If that all happened because of his first solo album, I can only imagine what"s going on now because of That XX! I personally think it"s awesome he"s standing up for freedom of speech. Then again, this is South Korea & they are very different from us.What do you think?

so ridiculous that the concert performance was such a huge scandal. barely inappropriate và certainly not humping/sex on stage

I couldn't agree more. It's just choreography. Lighten up Korea, lol :)

As I've seen in the video...It's just a very small thing made big...I mean, he did not show his thing khổng lồ the public......And why are people so narrow-minded...?And more or less, it's just choreography, people there are worse than Filipinos if that video clip is to be my basis....I mean, what's the big deal right?

G Dragon should just come lớn America, seriously we have sầu Nicki Minaj & Lady Gaga for god's sake! He will be welcomed with open arms khổng lồ his creativity. This is the only country to be yourself really

And THIS is the reason, many fans turned their back on GD?? You must bge kiddin -.-Other celebs do that on EVERY concert!

Far be it from whorish commercial truyền thông to seriously promote speech rights, or freedom from predatory oppressive sầu religion based censorship & hypocrisy. Would a world tour of Fuông xã for Forest, the Norwegian ecology activist duo who literally fuchồng on camera or at festivals in fundraising & awareness projects, be able to tour countries that pretover khổng lồ protect political và arts speech, without oppressive sầu arrests? All this other hostility about sex is ludicrous, when FFF is inside the bounds of what needs human rights protections.

i think the performance was hot, no dry humping or whatsoever, their genitals didn't even touch. However, considering that the audience was full of teenagers, the performance was clearely unapropriate.

The reason why I like kpop is because its not all about sex deugs and all that crap. If gLong is going to lớn be like this then he should just debut in America where it is not so strange lớn have a scene lượt thích that.....

SA9RAsaid...

I agree. Kpop is not all about sex & drugs, which is why many people lượt thích it better than American music. And clearly that is not appropriate for a concert meant for teens.

Anonymoussaid...

I also like kpop because there is an aire of innocence. But I also like g dragon's new album which has much more adult nội dung. I agree that he shouls be bigger in America!

I don't know... did the young audience feel offended with the choreography? I have kids of my own & this is nothing because they understand what is real và reel.. Music is what matters most... & its delivery..I guess there are different views according to how each one is raised. GD's fans reactions will be validated on his/their next concert..

Yeah, I know I´m late but one question:Why should/would anyone rebel against K-pop? I´m not Korean but I know that many who like K-pop prefer it for being so different from other music genres especially amer. Music. và by changing K-pop in the way GD is (allegedly) trying would mean lớn americanise K-pop. But K-pop wouldn´t no longer be K-pop if you add all typical american things lượt thích sex, drugs và roông chồng ´n roll. Accept và Respect K-pop for what it is & don´t always think that everything american is right. American Music is American Music and Korean Music is Korean Music, each of them are bond khổng lồ their own cultural values and standarts. If you don´t like one of them then change your audience & Music making! There would be no Dramas, no scandals, nothing! That´s how easy it is. Yet, I´d not accuse GD for trying to lớn rebel against K-pop or disrespecting K-pop unless he says so. I think he might have sầu tried to lớn please his audience that includes fans from different cultures and all artists with a big bạn crowd should be more sensitive to the needs and expectation of all fans. I just wish GD would have done that proforms outside Korea where it'd have been more applauded & not condemned. Peace!

I totally agree Justsaying ! K-Pop needs lớn stay Korean and definitely not Americanize their music! I love sầu K-Pop because of its innocence. G Dragon is amazing just the way he is!

I'm very late coming into lớn this, và I know it. From what I saw in the video, GD didn't vì anything wrong. I didn't see any "humping", they're pelvic areas never actually touched at all. Considering the song, I think the performance was a good one. Did I find it on the provocative side? Yes, I did. Am I hating on the performance because of it? No, if anything, I wish I could have sầu seen it live. Taking the audience's reaction that I could hear, they enjoyed it as well. I guess problem is that the performance happened in Korea. Am I saying that they are narrow-minded or anything? No. They have sầu a tradition và innocence about them that I quite enjoy, but unfortunately, times are changing, and that stage performance was extremely tame by standards used in other countries. GD pushes the boundaries & keeps reaching for that next màn chơi. That's why I enjoy his music và his performances (when I can see them). The same goes for when he's baông xã with the group 빅방, and I feel the same about them. Let this younger generation be themselves. They are wonderful và powerful artists. Guess that's why 쿠대타 starts the way it does, & why I'm loving that album most of all.
